Born and trained in Pakistan, Parvez painted London 1962 during his nine year stay in England from 1955 to 1964. This dynamic work is illustrative of competing East meets West energies at play in Parvez painting.
A founder member of the Pakistan Group in London, and a dedicated member of The Lahore Group, Parvez remained true to his national identity whilst outside his own country. Pavez felt motivated to increase awareness of the new developments in painting he witnessed in London, and attempted to integrate Modernism into Pakistani art.
