Painted in Haigh's latter day career, these works are the creation of a mature mind which has lived through every stage of Modernism's development and unravelling.

These beautifully crafted pictures have been put together by an artist with an acute sensitivity for colouration, tonal variation and surface texture. It ought to come as no surprise that Haigh trained as a textile sample dyer before becoming an artist.

Hard-edged enough to avoid mere decorativeness, these late paintings assert an interest with Analytical Cubism and its more tangible British legacy with Nicholson. A distinct departure has been made away from his former preoccupation with Camden town practice.

Abstract, but still loosely interpreting reality, these geometric forms reference still life and natural forms whilst pursuing a formalist exploration of planar movement and spatial awareness.
